The Revelstoke area has a shortage of affordable housing with few options for low-income workers and families with children. A 2018 study showed that the Revelstoke area is short hundreds of rental units.

Community Engagement Session #1 – February 27, 2020
The first of three community engagement sessions was held on February 27, 2020 at the Revelstoke Community & Aquatic Centre. Community members were invited to drop in at the session to learn more about the site, ask questions of project staff, and share their thoughts on the future of affordable rental housing at 420 Downie Street. Community Engagement Session #3 – September 30
Community members were invited to attend the third online community engagement session to explore the final concept site plan. This plan has been developed based on feedback received at the two previous community engagement sessions and from the surveys received following those sessions.

BC Housing and the design team thank everyone who completed the survey and provided feedback. Feedback from the engagement session and the survey will be used to fine-tune the final concept, which will then be submitted to the City of Revelstoke in support of the proposed site rezoning, which is required to accommodate housing on the site. Please note the outcomes from this engagement, including the survey results, will not be reported until after the provincial election period.
